A Break from the Desk

Leaders, make sure you take some time off during the Christmas Holidays. Leaders need time to rest and rejuvenate. Spend quality time with your family and friends. Take time to do something you really want to do, go see a good movie, go skating, read a good book, begin a gym routine, or do absolutely nothing. Take the time to rest your body and brain.

Take one day during your time off to review everything that happened the first semester. Think about the processes you had in place and decide what you can do to make those processes better. This is the opportunity to review your plans and revise the parts that are in need.

Think about how you will communicate the changes to the staff when school opens in January. Take a minute to review in your head all the questions that the staff might ask so you can have a logical answer. This is the time to think about what you as a leader can do to improve yourself as you serve others.
